Ludacris' "Max Payne" Tops Alicia Keys, Latifah, & Jennifer Hudsons' A Secret Life Of Bees

Ludacris' latest flick, the video game based, action movie Max Payne, debuted at No. 1 over the weekend, making around $18 million in box office sales.

According to Variety, the 20th Century Fox film, which also starred Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, secured the top position during a weekend of debuts and became the third best opening of the fall, following earlier releases Chihuahua and Eagle Eye. Company executives were pleased with the numbers.

"We're thrilled," Fox senior VP of domestic distribution Bert Livingston told Variety. "Fox had a great weekend. We had something for everyone."

Opening up at 3,376 theaters, the film portrays Wahlberg as the lead character violently searching to find the killer of his family.

Another big weekend debut was the highly-anticipated movie The Secret Life of Bees, which opened up at No. 3 with over $11 million in ticket sales....Read Full Story
