Brett Favre A Backup?
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsBrett Favre's request for his release will not be granted according to a statement made by GM Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy to The Associated Press this Saturday. They said, the future Hall of Fame quarterback is welcome to rejoin the team but would have to be a backup.
Favre, who was placed on the reserve-retired list in late April after his March 6th retirement, has three years and
$39 million left on his contract with the Packers.
Favre now must apply to commissioner Roger Goodell if he would like to be reinstated. That would force the Packers to activate the 16-year veteran.
What a bunch of BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brett Favre a backup? Kiss my ass Ted Thompson and kill yourself Mike McCarthy. Think before you speak. Brett Favre, the 12 million dollar backup doesn't even make sense. I can understand feeling backed into a corner with Favre not making a clear cut decsion, but being a backup in Green Bay is not the answer. It is just plain dumb.

Favre Seeks Unconditional Release
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsOn Friday legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, formally asked by letter for his unconditional contractual release, sources close to Favre and the team said.
The letter stated a desire for a amicable partying, as the Packers have been reluctant to embrace his return.
The Packers organization weren't available for comment Friday.
This is a tough situation for any organization. You can't blame the Packers for wanting to move on after Favre stated back in March that he was not %100 committed to football. Also, the team has two young quarterbacks waiting to take the reins.
But then again, who wouldn't want Favre back? I sure as hell wouldn't want to play against him after he's lead the way for so many cheese heads all these years.
More details are bound surface early next week.

Dan Klecko Now A Fullback In Green
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsDan Klecko was just recently signed to a two year deal by the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon. The former defensive tackle is going to be converted to the fullback position.
"Everything I've ever done at fullback has been very raw," Klecko said. "This is going to be a whole learning experience."
Weighing in at 275 lbs this monster will have to lose at least 20lbs and learn all the secrets of the fullback position in order to lead Westbrooke to a great rushing season.
Eagles released their last year's starting fullback, Thomas Tapeh, and also are hoping for some backup from Jason Davis who was the Eagles practice squad in 2007.

Trent Green Returns To St Louis
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsTrent Green was released by the Miami Dolphins last week and yesterday afternoon agreed to a three year contract with one of his old teams, the St Louis Rams.
His three year deal is worth $8.9 million that included $2.1 million dollar signing bonus and a $900,000 dollar roster bonus on Monday.
What is going on here? Why is this Old Timer Trent Green getting so much money? What has he proved to us in the last two years?
Green, was on the IR last season due to a concussion and was just given the "okay" to play. Green will be backing up Marc Bulger.
I don't get how a back up quarterback with concussion problems gets a $4 million dollar a year deal, but someone like Julius Jones who is looking to be the starting running back for the Seattle Seahawks gets a $3 million a year deal.
Anyone else think this is a bad move? Too much money?

No More Farve?
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsBrett Farve announced his retirement yesterday afternoon. Some believe he is the best QB to ever play the game, and if that is not true is can easily by argued as one of the top 5 QBs of All-Time.
Last season Farve came back to set numerous NFL records along with leading his team back into Superbowl hunt. He believes he can still physically play but told his wife mentally the game has taken a toll on him and can no longer do it. Best of Luck to the soon to be future Hall of Famer.
