Ocho Cinco It Is...
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsIt's official. In a publicity stunt to start a media frenzy, Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson changed his name in his home state of Florida last week.
The National Football League decided on Thursday to recognize receiver Chad Johnson’s legal name change to Chad Ocho Cinco. The new name will be on the back of his Cincinnati Bengals uniform for the season opener in Baltimore on Sunday.
Regardless of the name change, Johnson is going to have to put up numbers as he has done in the past or Cincinnati fans will grow tried of his show sooner or later.
I'm sure Reebok is happy, that they can now product a new jersey that will most likely be the number one seller in Ohio.

Tatum Bell Mug Shot?
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsReported by Jim Rome, former Detroit Lion running back Tatum Bell was caught on security camera stealing newly signed running back Rudi Johnson's bags outside a coaches office.
When the bags were eventually returned Tuesday by an unidentified woman, the bags were missing Johnson's identification, credit cards, clothes and all of his money, about $200 in cash.
"I just want to talk to him man-to-man. I want to straighten it out,'' Bell said in a phone conversation tonight. "I did take his bag, but it was a misunderstanding. I've never had to fight for my reputation like now."
Bell is going to need that $200 after becoming expendable by the Lions.

Dallas Cowboys, Chad Johnson, Roy Williams Or Anquan Boldin
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsAfter looking at the Dallas Cowboys draft picks and collection of 2009 draft spots they accumulated, makes me wonder if they are looking to throw up a few trade offers for a stud wide receiver to help out Tony Romo and TO.
Dallas filled in the holes which were needed but the nice think about the draft was Jerry Jones and company stayed away from picking a top WR in the draft, since there didn't seem to be many wide receivers to pick from. There have been trade rumors about Chad Johnson, Roy Williams and Anquan Boldin looking to be traded. Dallas collected a couple of draft spots for the 2009 draft which I am hoping they are looking to give away in a trade proposal for Chad Johnson or Roy Williams. Being able to see Terrell Owens TO along side with Chad Johnson on the same team would be a memorial year of domination or the year Dallas goes up in flames.

NFL New Rules For 2008
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsOn Tuesday the NFL owners concluded their annual meeting with quick passages of several proposals and by tabling the re-seeding idea for the playoffs as well as the Kansas City Chiefs' proposal to prohibit hair hanging over the back of jerseys to the nameplate.
Without the necessary 24 votes to pass a re-seeding plan to give wild-card teams the chance to host playoff games, the Competition Committee tabled the concept to a later meeting, most likely May.
Why are we messing with the playoff system? The NFL is the closest league to being perfect and now the owners are trying to mess up the playoffs. It doesn't make sense. They need to leave that proposal of the table until Elvis returns.
The proposals that were passed:
• A recommendation to eliminate force-out decisions on pass completions near the sidelines was approved. Now, officials will only have to decide whether a receiver landed in bounds or not. The intended result is more consistency. It is a good call.
• The "Phil Dawson field goal rule" change passed. Now, certain field goals can be reviewed by instant replay, including kicks that bounce off the uprights. Under the previous system, no field goals could be replayed. Sure, why not?
• Coaches can now defer a decision on the opening coin toss. This is similar to the college rule. Previously, the winner of the coin toss could only choose to receive or kick off. Who cares?
• A direct snap from center that goes backward will now be treated as a fumble. Previously, it was ruled a false start. What? Sure.
• The 5-yard face mask penalty was eliminated. Now, only the serious face mask will be called (and will be assessed as a 15-yard penalty). The major foul will involve twisting or grabbing the face mask. I like it.
It passed a rule to allow defensive players to wear radio helmets on Tuesday. It's only fair.
