Pop diva Mariah Carey has become only the second artist to score 18 U.S. number one singles - beating the late Elvis Presley into third place. The singer's new song, "Touch My Body," surged up the Billboard Hot 100 countdown to take the top slot after being made available as a digital download. Carey has now claimed her 18th number one single, leaving her just two short of The Beatles' record. Carey says, "I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world. That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."

Mariah Carey will replace Janet Jackson on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Jackson called in sick after coming down with a bout of influenza at the beginning of the week. Her illness was so severe she checked into a Los Angeles hospital, suffering from shortness of breath.
Despite her illness, representatives for Jackson insist the singer will be "fine."
