Nintendo of Europe has just annoucement Mario Kart Wii will only support text chat in between matches, while waiting for the competition. It will not support keyboards either. Nintendo is playing it really safe and will only allow a pre-determined number of phrases to be used.
This is extremely weak. I hope they straighten this situation out before Mario Kart Wii releases in the U.S. If the hand held Nintendo DS can handle voice chat, then Nintendo Wii console should have all the capabilities and then some to support full online gaming.
It is not 1997!!! Nintendo, please don't let XBox360 continue with its online domination. Mario Kart Wii has a chance to be the greatest game of all time...don't mess it up. Please!!!!!!!!!!!
