Over the weekend the Detroit Tigers offered Miguel Cabrera the biggest contract in Tigers' franchise history. They reached an agreement of $153.3 million contract extension over the next eight years. This contract is the fourth biggest contract in MLB history, behind Alex Rodriguez ($275 million), Derek Jeter ($189 million) and Manny Ramirez ($160 million).

This All-Star third basemen will have to go through a physical in order to seal the deal. Miguel Cabrera, 24 years of age, was eligible for arbitration in 2009. This contract will allow him to collect $11.3 million in 2008 and than average about $19 million per year through 2016.

I think the Tigers were smart to give a big long contract now because he is still very young and already a stud. His value will only soar over the next few years.

Chicago Cubs strengthening coach Tim Buss felt sick to his stomach on Tuesday when some of his players told him about how his 1995 Nissan Sentra was completely demolished.

Roof of the car had a hole in it, trunk ripped open, windows shattered and the doors tied closed. Baseballs and bats were placed around the foot of the car indicating that some of Tim Buss' players were up to no good.

"I figured [Jon] Lieber, [Kerry] Wood immediately, [Ryan] Dempster …" Tim Buss said, according to The Chicago Tribune. "Then I realized it was every pitcher we have."

Players allowed Buss to fume for a while. The coach was trying to figure out how to tell his wife about their car.

Dempster finally told their coach to take a look down the parking lot where a brand new Nissan Xterra SUV was sitting. Cubs pitching staff treated their strengthening coach to a new car which would replace his out dated and demolished vehicle.

If something comes up, I'm sure they'll let me know. I'll come back in July if I have to. It depends on the circumstances."

Barry Bonds' agent, Jeff Borris, released that Bonds is ready for action, he is in shape and healthy but just needs to hit off some live pitching.

HAHAHA what a joke! We just wrote a article about 2 or 3 weeks ago that mentioned how FAT Barry Bonds looked at the Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood.
