Jeremy Shockey Trade To Saints
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsMonday afternoon, Jeremy Shockey was traded to the New Orleans Saints for two draft picks in the 2009 draft. Jeremy Shockey will meet up with coach Sean Payton again. Payton was offensive coordinator in New York during Shockey's rookie year and Shockey caught more passes for more yards that season than he did in any of his following seasons.
I think this was a good trade for both teams as long as Jeremy Shockey shows that last years injury will not affect his game. Giants have a young athletic tight end who showed he was ready to play during the Super Bowl Champions playoff run. The Saints who struggled last year can always use more weapons as they look to prove to the NFL that last season was nothing but a fluke.
The trade will not be official until it is approved by the league and Jeremy Shockey can pass his physical.

Lions, Tigers And Now Bears...Oh My!
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsWell, maybe there were no Tigers, but former Lions running back, Kevin Jones, agreed to a one-year deal worth $605,000 with the Chicago Bears.
This is a good landing spot for the injury plagued runner since the Bears cut last years starter and first round bust Cedric Benson.
Jones will compete with Matt Forte of Tulane for some carries.

Favre Fires Back!
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and Conditions"You're telling me playing there is not an option, but playing elsewhere, we just can't -- we're trying to protect your legacy," Favre said. "Well, thank you. I appreciate that. But apparently now, they're trying to protect my legacy by bringing me back and having me be a backup. Boy, that is really good."
Well put Brett.
In a recent interview, Favre said the Packers were being dishonest, although he did not point out specific examples in the portion of the interview aired Monday. A second segment is scheduled to air Tuesday.
"If you move on, you tell me one thing, don't come back and tell the public ... just say it, 'You know, we've moved on and we'll work with Brett on whatever it is,'" Favre said. "Don't make up a lot of stuff or give half of the truth."
That is my point as well. Don't spit a bunch of BS, like Brett can return as a back up. We all know if Favre returns to Green Bay he will win the starting job. He's the best quarterback whether the organization likes it or not. Favre gives them their best shot at winning and they'd be dumb to ruin that opportunity.
Trades are not looking so likely...the Packers wouldn't trade him to anybody in the NFC. Over in the AFC, the Jets and Ravens are not interested. Miami is just coming back from vacation and is showing interest, but I'm not sure if Favre would be okay as a Dolphin.

Brett Favre A Backup?
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsBrett Favre's request for his release will not be granted according to a statement made by GM Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy to The Associated Press this Saturday. They said, the future Hall of Fame quarterback is welcome to rejoin the team but would have to be a backup.
Favre, who was placed on the reserve-retired list in late April after his March 6th retirement, has three years and
$39 million left on his contract with the Packers.
Favre now must apply to commissioner Roger Goodell if he would like to be reinstated. That would force the Packers to activate the 16-year veteran.
What a bunch of BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brett Favre a backup? Kiss my ass Ted Thompson and kill yourself Mike McCarthy. Think before you speak. Brett Favre, the 12 million dollar backup doesn't even make sense. I can understand feeling backed into a corner with Favre not making a clear cut decsion, but being a backup in Green Bay is not the answer. It is just plain dumb.

Favre Seeks Unconditional Release
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsOn Friday legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, formally asked by letter for his unconditional contractual release, sources close to Favre and the team said.
The letter stated a desire for a amicable partying, as the Packers have been reluctant to embrace his return.
The Packers organization weren't available for comment Friday.
This is a tough situation for any organization. You can't blame the Packers for wanting to move on after Favre stated back in March that he was not %100 committed to football. Also, the team has two young quarterbacks waiting to take the reins.
But then again, who wouldn't want Favre back? I sure as hell wouldn't want to play against him after he's lead the way for so many cheese heads all these years.
More details are bound surface early next week.
