Christopher Buckley Won't Be Coming To The National Review Christmas Party
Christopher Buckley, the only son of William F. Buckley, came out recently with an endorsement for Barack Obama. This isn't sitting well with the National Review, but Buckley Jr. still owns 1/7 of the magazine. I caught up on Junior in this New York times piece. I learned that Buckley Jr. is the author of Thank You for Smoking--I have to admit I didn't read the book but I thought the movie was fabulous. Buckley is scheduled to appear on the Daily Show.
I watched Charlie Wilson's War last night--a nice Afgan/American history lesson in an easy-to-swallow Hollywood format starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. The director of Primary Colors tells the story of a Texas playboy congressman raises funds from $5 milllion to $1 billion to covertly arming the Afgans to fight the Soviets, then seen as the front of the Cold War. ...

Uma Thurman's Engagement Party
Uma Thurman and her extremely rich fiance, Arpad Busson, got in got engaged back in June and have just celebrated it with a party filled with close friends and family members last Wednesday.
A few days later they continued to celebrate their good news with othe friends in Saint-Tropez and also in London.
Uma Thurman is 38 years of age and her fiance is 45.

Federline Partying Hard Again
Federline is not often seen in the nightclubs anymore now that he has two children but on Friday night, Kevin Federline was turning the big 3-0. He was seen out with 20 friends and family members at the Pure Nightclub in Las Vegas.
Federline seemed to have a blast while he threw down Jack Daniels and many other shots. He left the club around 2am and was supposed to head back home to Los Angeles on Saturday to take care of his two kids.
I am still shocked to see that Federline is a much better parent. As much as I may dislike him, he has done well with both his sons, Preston and Jayden.

Trivia: Turned down the role of Sam Wheat in Ghost (1990) because he didn't think the plot would work and that playing a ghost would be detrimental to his career. Ironically, he played a ghost in The Sixth Sense (1999), which was a critical success and is widely regarded as one of his best performances.
