Film scholars tend to discourage “biographical” readings of movies as it’s too easy to fall into lazy habits of attributing anything and everything to “psychological” motivations. Yet, sometimes, movies are clearly biographical. For example, George Lucas initially wanted the eponymous hero to meet a long-lost daughter in a fourth Indiana Jones effort, but Steven Spielberg wanted a father-son relationship (again). Also, Spielberg’s recent time at Paramount after the studio bought his DreamWorks outfit was beset by general unpleasantries. Therefore, Spielberg got his payback by...

Will the St. Louis Rams' best offensive weapon, Steven Jasckson make his return?

Sources close to Jackson told FOXSports.com that Jackson and his agent will make the trip to St. Louis in order to negotiate with the team face-to-face and are optimistic that the two sides will reach an agreement on a new contract within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Thus far Jackson has skipped all of training camp and both preseason games. The struggling Rams desperately need their star running.

Jackson was limited to 12 games in 2007 due to injury, but still managed to top 1,000 rushing yards for the third consecutive season. He carried the ball 237 times for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 38 receptions for 271 yards and another score.

Last season stats didn't exactly have fantasy owners singing songs and drinking beer, but his production wasn't so bad for being on a terrible team plagued with injuries.

After eight months, Peter Jackson, producer of The Hobbit has called off the search to find a scribe.

Lord Of The Rings filmmaker Peter Jackson and Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo Del Toro have deciding they are best suited to write the script.

Writers Frank Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who both collaborated with Jackson on the Rings trilogy, will join the filmmakers in the writers' room.

Shooting on both movies, which will take place simultaneously, is slated to start in late 2009 in New Zealand, with The Hobbit expected for release in 2011 and its sequel in 2012.

Del Toro is set to direct both films, while Jackson heads production.

Indy 5?

George Lucas has been discussing the possibility of a fifth film in the franchise, stating "If I can come up with another idea that they like, we'll do another." I don't care what anybody else thinks...I like it!

In The Sunday Times, Lucas said that putting together the recently released sequel was a challenge. "Indiana Jones only becomes complicated when you have another two people saying 'I want it this way' and 'I want it that way', whereas when I first did Jones, I just said 'We'll do it this way' - and that was much easier.

"But now", he went on, "I have to accommodate everybody, because they are all big, successful guys too, so it's a little hard on a practical level."

With Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull taking more than $750m worldwide, a fifth film seems highly likely.

Personally, I think people are too hard on Lucas. He has revolutionized movie making and come up with some legendary characters. I have faith that Lucas, Spielberg and Ford can all come together for the 5 installment. Maybe Jones can bump into Willie Scott. Or maybe not.
