I can hardly believe it. There is a possibility of a Top Gun sequel. Very exciting.

Tom Cruise has been asked to reprise his role as cocky fighter-pilot Maverick, 22 years after the first film, Top Gun.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot."

While this is hard to believe it would still be awesome if Cruise would return to his roots.

For fans wanting a laugh...check this out.

If you liked that a little...check this out. Much better. Awesome in fact! Broke Back to the Future.

Looking to crunch some numbers?

The Dark Knight had the widest release opening ever (4,366 theaters) and now the largest midnight opening gross, beating out Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which made $16.9 million in its midnight release. Christian Bale's Batman brought in an estimated $18.5 million. The film, which opened 12 a.m. on Friday went on to make $50 million in its first day.

The current all-time record for highest single day opening is Spider-Man 3, which made $59.8 million. We will have to wait and see if it can make up some ground to claim the highest weekend box office ever.

Will Ferrell Turns Down 29 Milion

Step Brothers star, Will Ferrell has turned down $29m to star in a sequel to Elf.

He said: "I was offered $29 million for a sequel, but I never liked it. It does seem a lot of money for a guy to wear tights. It's insane. But it wasn't difficult to turn down. I remember asking myself could I withstand the criticism when it's bad and they say, 'He only did the sequel for the money.

"I decided I wouldn't be able to. I didn't want to erase all the good work I've done, but you watch - I'll do some sequel in the future that's c**p."

Will also ruled out starring in a sequel to Old School, which saw him play an overgrown student alongside Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson.

He insisted: "I wouldn't do another Old School. They put these rumors out there, but I would never be behind that one."

What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Are you crazy!? No chance for Old School 2. Old School is only one of the greatest comedies of all time. Don't let Ferrel stop this one from happening. Bring in Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, or move Artie Lang into a leading role but don't let Ferrell stop this movie from finding its way back into the theater.

Shame on you, Frank the Tank.
