3D Realms Not Pleased With Max Payne Movie

Category: Movies    Tags: Max Payne, Weekend Box Office

Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms and the producer behind both of the Max Payne games, has added his voice to those displeased with the movie adaptation of the game starring Mark Wahlberg. The first Max Payne was released in 2001 and tells the story of an undercover cop whose family was murdered and who is made the victim of corruption in the police force and forced to go on the run. The movie however has changed certain elements of the plot - and not for the better according to Scott Miller. "There are several fundamental story flaws ... in the film that have me shaking my head in bewilderment," Miller told Edge. "A big problem with the film is that we do not really know what is driving Max until we see the flashback scene showing him coming home and finding his family murdered. In the game, we...

Max Payne Los Angeles PremiereIts not unusual to have movies such as Max Payne becomes number 1 at the movie box office. A lot of action movies are from the action figures such as Batman or the Iron Man from the comic books. The film then cuts to one week earlier, showing Max working as a clerk in the cold-case unit and his obsession with finding the fleeing killer who brutally murdered his wife, Michelle, and newborn daughter. Movie Review: Max Payne

MAX PAYNE, PREMIERE2001 saw the release of the third person shooter Max Payne. It was well-received by gamers and critics alike. It combined cinematic influences with everyone's desire to shoot things. With its popularity, it was only a matter of time before it was adapted to the big screen. Although I have never played the game, it is easy to see its potential for cinematic fun. It has elements of old noir and hard boiled detective films, John Woo influenced game play and a look that is simultaneously old and new school. Unfortunately, as it turns out, Hollywood seemed to be more content to turn out a workmanlike product that trades on its popularity for a quick buck with a visual style that attempts to be arty while remaining true to the game while completely ignoring the story potential in favor of a script that is more concerned with getting to the...
