Japan's Richest Man
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsIn 2008 Forbes.com announced Japan's 40 richest people. Former Nintendo president and chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi was declared the country's wealthiest citizen with an estimated net worth of 7.8 billion.
Yamauchi was the third president of Nintendo Co.,Ltd. beginning in 1949 until stepping down on May 31, 2002. He is credited with transforming Nintendo from a small hanafuda card making company in Japan to the multi-billion dollar video game company that brings you Mario, Link, Samus and all our other favorite characters today.
Hanafuda are playing cards of Japan origin, used to play a number of games. The name literally translates as "flower cards." Or so they say.

Beckett Will Not Throw In Opener?
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsBoston Red Sox's stud 20 game winner, Josh Beckett, will NOT be starting the first game on opening day. The other day during an exhibition game, Beckett walked off the mound during his warm up pitches with a tweak in his back. He did not seem to walk off in extreme pain as there was no limp, but Red Sox must have some concern if they already announced he will not be starting.
"I don't think we know [for sure] yet," Francona said. "But we're certainly not going to rush him back to pitch a game March 24 if he's not ready."
Josh Beckett however did report yesterday that is his back is feeling better. All you Red Sox fans out there keep those fingers crossed that his back does not continue to act throughout the season.
