3D Realms Not Pleased With Max Payne Movie

Scott Miller, CEO of 3D Realms and the producer behind both of the Max Payne games, has added his voice to those displeased with the movie adaptation of the game starring Mark Wahlberg. The first Max Payne was released in 2001 and tells the story of an undercover cop whose family was murdered and who is made the victim of corruption in the police force and forced to go on the run. The movie however has changed certain elements of the plot - and not for the better according to Scott Miller. "There are several fundamental story flaws ... in the film that have me shaking my head in bewilderment," Miller told Edge. "A big problem with the film is that we do not really know what is driving Max until we see the flashback scene showing him coming home and finding his family murdered. In the game, we...

Premiere Of 20th Century Fox's I haven't updated in a pretty long while, I know, but I have been playing some great games. There are two games in particular that I would like to share with you: Max Payne and Max Payne 2. I have a story about both of these wonderful games and I would like to share it with you. It goes a little something like this . . .A few years ago - several years ago, in fact - I was given a copy of the original Max Payne as a gift. I remember thinking the visuals looked so incredible on the back of the box and thinking, "There is simply no way this game has a slow-motion mode in which you can dodge bullets and see them coming at you!" Yes, this was back when the concept of Bullet Time was still fresh and not...

Premiere Of 20th Century Fox's Max Payne: Mark WahlbergMona Sax: Mila KunisBB Hensley: Beau BridgesJim Bravura: Chris ‘Ludacris’ BridgesJason Colvin: Chris O’DonnellAlex Balder: Donal LogueJack Lupino: Amaury Nolasco20th Century Fox presents a film directed by John Moore. Written by Beau Thorne. Based on the video game by Remedy Entertainment and 3-D Realm Entertainment. Running time: 100 min. Rated PG-13 (for violence including intense shooting sequences, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language).I’m not a video gamer. I’ve never had the natural ability to just feel a game out, nor can I stand the didactic nature of reading the gamer’s guides that come with the games. There is no reading so dull to me as that in an instruction manual. And gamer’s guides are all written in the same language. L1+∆=jump kick. Uhg!. There is a standard operating language to cinematic storytelling as well. The best films avoid talking in plain language. And then there...

Max Payne Los Angeles Premiere“Beverly Hills Chihuahua” lost the No. 1 spot it maintained at the North American box office these past two weeks as Twentieth Century Fox released its video-game-inspired action film “Max Payne.”
Walt Disney Pictures family film “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” enjoyed a friendly two consecutive weekends at the top of the North American box office as audiences appeared to be in the mood for some light peaceful laughs in the first half of October, but this has now changed.
“Max Payne,” based on the popular video game of the same name, starring Mark Wahlberg in the title role and Mila Kunis as a literal femme fatale, earned $18 million in ticket sales during its first three days of availability in theaters. “Chihuahua” was no longer a priority as the action film rose to the top spot and the pooch comedy slipped to No. 2 with $11.2 million. Second place is not...
