The King Of Voice Over Dies
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsVoice over legend Don LaFontaine has died after suffering from a collapsed lung at age 68.
During his lengthy career, LaFontaine lent his booming vocal chords to more than 5,000 movie trailers and 300,000 radio and TV commercials, including advertisements for corporate giants such as McDonalds, Coca-Cola and Budweiser.
LaFontaine's agent, Vanessa Gilbert, tells ETonline.com that he died following complications from pneumothorax. This is when air or gas gets into the pleural cavity, after a lung collapse.
However, the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
The words, "In a world where...", will never quite sound the same again.

WiiSpeak
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsBetter late then never. Nintendo is joining the voice chat market. It would have been nice to see it available for Mario Kart Wii. The company probably figured Mario Kart would sell itself, but the addition of voice chat probably would have made it one of the most popular games of all time!
Anyway, Animal Crossing: City Folk will be released November 16th and will utilized the WiiSpeak hardware. The WiiSpeak microphone will be available separately for $29.99. Hopefully, Nintendo won't come up with something to filter out our favorite 4-letter words.

Text Chat!!! What The F%@k?!
By Saving A Sketch, You Agree To Our Terms and ConditionsNintendo of Europe has just annoucement Mario Kart Wii will only support text chat in between matches, while waiting for the competition. It will not support keyboards either. Nintendo is playing it really safe and will only allow a pre-determined number of phrases to be used.
This is extremely weak. I hope they straighten this situation out before Mario Kart Wii releases in the U.S. If the hand held Nintendo DS can handle voice chat, then Nintendo Wii console should have all the capabilities and then some to support full online gaming.
It is not 1997!!! Nintendo, please don't let XBox360 continue with its online domination. Mario Kart Wii has a chance to be the greatest game of all time...don't mess it up. Please!!!!!!!!!!!
