Hollywood stars Laurence Fishburne and John Malkovich have been considered as replacements for William Petersen in hit U.S. TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
The original cast member, Petersen, is set to leave the show mid-season. The decision to leave was wholly Petersen's, who has previously shown signs of CSI fatigue – the actor took a break from CSI in the 2006-2007 season to perform in a play.
According to U.S. reports, Fishburne and Malkovich are both in competition to take on the role. Petersen will return occasionally to make guest appearances, and he will stay on as a producer.
A spokesperson for the show tells the New York Post, "It's not the end of the show. There's a lot of good stuff coming up. We're looking for a high-profile person to come in (to replace Petersen) as a CSI."
The classic lovable nerd, Louis Tully, played by Rick Moranis will be one of the few Ghostbuster characters not returning to the video game sequel being launched later this year by Sierra Studios. A source says, Moranis has made so much money off the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise he decline to get involved in the voice over work required for the video game, because he is currently retire from entertainment.
Sad, sad news. Why would you do this to your fans Louis Tully? The fans are the people that made it possible for you to make the amount of money you've made over the years. Next time, think about the fans.
On a positive note, William Atherton, will be reprising his role of Walter Peck. Phenomenal!!!
Louis: So they're okay! So, does anybody wanna play Parcheesi?
[the Terror Dog growls from inside the bedroom]
Louis: [grinning] Okay, who brought the dog?
